Collar Bling

This season look out for some collar bling. I’ve seen it in about every color, from metallic to neon. While at H&M this weekend (after having coffee with the blogger bff Rosa) I found this soft sheer black top with a metallic collar. I was instantly enamored and brought it home with me.

Style Challenge #7: Get The Look

I’m happy to say that I made it to the final style challenge of ABC Family’s Jane By Design. It has been an adventure and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it!  For the final task we had to watch the premiere (in case you missed it watch clip here) and choose one person to observe and write a “get the look” entry on our blog.  As I watched the premiere, I was immediately drawn to Gray Chandler Murray’s vibrant red coat.  Her ensemble was chic, classy, and modern. The pop of red is a perfect way to add color to any outfit.

To get the look purchase this coat, dress, necklace, and pumps! And don’t forget to share your “get the look” tips here!

Style Challenge #6: Pretzel Bib Necklace

Happy New Year friends! Hearing that I made it to round 6 of the Jane By Design Style challenge (there are a total of seven rounds) was a great way to kick off two thousand and twelve. For this challenge we were given a bag of pretzels and instructed to design something fashionable that inspires us. I have always been a huge fan of bib necklaces  and immediately knew that I wanted to make something that was wearable, not only edible.

With some spray paint and crazy glue I was able to design this unique gold bib necklace, made from pretzels!

Style Challenge #5: Day to Night

Good morning readers! It’s time for ABC’s Jane By Design style challenge #5. For round five of the interview process, we were challenged to transform a plain white dress shirt from  a day to night look. This challenge came to me somewhat naturally, given that I am use to taking my office attire from work appropriate to glitzy glam.

How would you transform a day look to a night out on the town? Share your styling tips here and don’t forget to mention High Fashion 4 Less!

P.S. What’s so simple and convenient about this outfit transformation is that you’ll just need to bring one thing with you to work that day, your sequin skirt!

Style Challenge #4: Holiday Vest

Happy Monday lovely readers! I hope you had a wonderful holiday filled with lots of good food and good company. I relished every moment of my holiday, spending quality time with my adorable nieces, who for some odd reason think I am Santa’s little elf. Maybe it has something to do with turning this not so fancy Christmas vest into something wearable?

For round four of the Jane By Design interview process (see 1, 2, and 3) we were challenged to turn a not so fabulous Christmas vest into “something spectacular”. I had to use every ounce of creativity to come up with a lace sweater skirt. With lots of lace, cutting, and sewing, I was able to style a festive holiday inspired outfit, with my not so lovely Christmas vest.

What would you make with a Christmas vest? Share your thoughts here!

Style Challenge #3: Red Kooba Handbag

For round three of the Jane By Design Style Challenge, we were tasked to find a purse in our closet that best represents our style and personality.

The purse I chose is my beloved Red Kooba handbag. I remember a few years back, I was stalking the bag on eBay after seeing someone rocking it on the street. Finally, after weeks of searching and endless bidding I was able to find one for the perfect price!

This purse best represents me because it’s a classic and versatile piece (can be worn as a clutch and shoulder bag) that adds a pop of color to any outfit.

Do you have purse in your closet that best represents you? If so, share it here!

Style Challenge #2: Classic White Tee

So lovely readers…I’ve passed challenge 1 and now I’m on to the next challenge for ABC’s Jane By Design Style Challenge. For this challenge we were tasked to use a style icon as a source of inspiration to design a plain white tee.

One of my favorite style icons is Rachel Roy. Her statement, yet classic pieces are versatile and can easily be taken from day to night. Her use of black and white contrast in the Resort 2012 collection is welcomed with draped necklines and pops of color. For this challenge, I wanted to maintain the function of a classic white tee but add a detailed sweetheart neckline that would be more flattering.

All you have to do is sinch the front of any plain white shirt (I turned mine upside down and cut the bottom off) then sew through it using white thread.

Who’s your style icon? Share it here!
