T.J.Maxx – 1000th Store Opening {Home Decor}
{colorful velvet hangers at TJ Maxx}
As an embarrassingly obsessive Maxxinista, I couldn’t be more ecstatic when I first heard that TJ Maxx was opening a new store in DC (at Metro Center). My love affair with TJ Maxx has been a long and steady one, dating back to my childhood days where I would accompany my mom into the dressing room, with a handful of clothes I wanted to try on. Not to mention, spending too much time in the shoe aisle, trying on shoes that were way too big for me. Now that I’m a grown-up city gal, TJ Maxx has everything one would need.
Since I was in Antigua and unable to attend the media preview, I was most excited to check out their home section upon my arrival! Ever since I moved to the city, TJ Maxx and Home Goods have been my go-to sources for budget home decor. Make sure to visit soon (if you already haven’t) because I plan on being there on a regular basis.

Ring Dish
Sometimes I need to display my jewelery to remember to wear it. When it’s tucked away in jewelry boxes, buried under a dozen other pieces, it loses the proper attention required. A fun way to display your most treasured rings, is a jewelry dish. I found this dainty giraffe ring dish at Anthropologie the other week, which perfectly hoists my more treasured pieces.

It’s also a fun way to dress-up your bedside table.

{It’s no longer available online (check stores) but here are some other great options}

Ellicott City, Maryland
This past weekend, I took a day trip to Ellicott City to explore antique row. The city boasts a 18th-century downtown feel with tons of eclectic shops and quaint restaurants. If you’re local and in the market for some vintage home goods, this is the place to go! Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day.

Pom Flair
For some time I have been looking for the perfect piece of art to display above my all white brick fireplace. Since I have yet to find some time to paint something or look for a worth while piece to invest in, I decided to jazz it up with these fun tassel garlands by Pom Flair.
So far I am enjoying the constant party feel in my home.

DIY Shoe Rack
I love organization solutions that help you get a good feel for your inventory, especially when it comes to shoes. While at Goodwill a few weeks ago, I got the wild idea to turn this ordinary DVD holder stand (purchased for $10) into a pretty yet organized shoe display. I plan to eventually spray paint it but for now it will just do.

Saucy Glossie Bedroom
I recently discovered this blog and have been hooked ever since. The funny thing is I found this blog through a TJ Maxx commercial they have airing about being a Maxxinista. What really caught my eye about Saucy Glossie was the style of her white crisp bedroom, not to mention countless outfit posts that make me want to buy everything!
Since I have been in the process of buying a bed (which has seemed like forever) and cannot seem to find my dream bed (last seen here) anywhere, I will have to settle for this lovely white satin headboard by Target. At such an affordable price, it’s hard not to like it.
Have a wonderful weekend readers!

Pops of Color
I recently discovered a fun way to display my massive nail polish collection. The lovely ladies at WhoWhatWear added pops of color to their office by placing all their nail polishes in a clear circular glass container. I love the way it looks and can’t wait to give it a go!

Jewelry Organizer How-To
I’m big believer in being organized. It saves you time, space, and not to mention sanity when you’re in a rush and need to find something quick. When it comes to jewelry, I have lots of it – I love to accessorize outfits with statement necklaces and earrings. A few weeks back I purchased this cork board (from Home Goods) for my kitchen. I quickly realized that it was too big for the space I had in mind, so I decided to keep it and make my own jewelry organizer by using some thin hanging wire and nails. Now I have a fun way to display all my jewelry and even sunglasses.

{Step 1- Hammer in thin nails one inch a part}

{Step 2- Hammer in 1 nail on each side of board. Then wrap thin wire across board}

{Step 3- Hang jewelry and enjoy display}
